SECOND AMENDMENT DEFENSE DIRECTIVE
To Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)
I am writing to insist you oppose ANY and ALL gun control schemes, including NATIONWIDE Gun Registration and so-called “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation Orders.
The fact is, these “solutions” to mass shootings won’t work. The ONLY way to stop a bloodthirsty madman with a gun is if good people are armed and ready to fight back.
Therefore, as your constituent, I urge you to oppose any gun control scheme.
| Whereas: | The Second Amendment prohibits Congress from infringing on the people’s right to keep and bear arms; and |
| Whereas: | With over 20,000 gun control laws already in existence, it is clear that no amount of gun control policies will stop tragedies like what happened in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio; and |
| Whereas: | Criminals intent to do harm will find a way around any new gun control scheme; and |
| Whereas: | So-called “Universal Background Checks” (A.K.A. National Gun Registration), “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation Orders, and bans on specific guns infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens and tragically limit their ability to defend themselves and their loved ones; and |
| Therefore: | As your constituent, I demand you OPPOSE any and all gun control schemes advancing through Congress, including NATIONWIDE Gun Registration and so-called “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation Legislation. |
