The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution states that “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” The Democrats’ “Assault Weapons Ban” legislation, HR 1808, which would ban the sale of the most popular rifles in America, would constitute the most radical deprivation of Second Amendment rights in decades. As Senate Minority Leader, you have the power and DUTY to demand your caucus hold the line in support of Americans’ constitutionally protected rights and filibuster any gun grab that is brought forward. If you, as Senate Minority Leader, broker any deal with the Democrats that results in passage of this radical legislation, or any other form of gun control, there will be a reckoning in November and beyond. Passing Joe Biden’s gun control agenda would utterly dishearten voters who defend and support the Bill of Rights, will spell doom for Republicans in the November election, and destroy your efforts in the 118th Congress.
