| Whereas: | Privacy from government spying is a chief cornerstone of our liberties, enshrined in the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution; and |
| Whereas: | No government in the history of mankind – not even the Communist East German Stasi of yesteryear – has ever held the massive spying power our Federal Government holds over law-abiding U.S. citizens today; and |
| Whereas: | Section 702 of the FISA Amendments Act is regularly used by the surveillance state to collect massive amounts of private information on American citizens; |
| Therefore: | As your constituent, I insist you vote against any legislation that reauthorizes FISA Section 702 unless it directly ensures Americans’ rights are protected, and a warrant is required as the Constitution demands. |
