I am writing to insist you oppose Cap and Tax or any other dangerous power grab that would give the federal government UNPRECEDENTED control over the private sector – and our very lives.
The fact is, Cap and Tax will have almost zero impact on the environment – except for the lost jobs, higher taxes, and blighted small towns and rural communities.
Therefore, as your constituent, I demand you oppose any Cap and Tax scheme that reaches the floor of Congress.
| Whereas: | Passage of so-called “Cap and Trade” legislation, which ought to be called Cap and Tax, will results in the loss of over one million American jobs as energy-intensive industries are forced to close down or move overseas; and |
| Whereas: | The best experts agree Cap and Tax will have almost zero impact on the environment; and |
| Whereas: | Cap and Tax schemes are instead designed to grant the government power to control the economy, our lives, and our freedom; and |
| Whereas: | Cap and Tax is a radical, ham-fisted, authoritarian proposal and should not be misinterpreted as a “moderate compromise” when held up to an outlandish plan that would ban airplanes and cow flatulence; and |
| Therefore: | As your constituent, I demand you oppose any Cap and Tax scheme that reaches the floor of Congress. |
