Whereas: | The filibuster is a tool that is needed to ensure checks on absolute power by each side of the aisle; and |
Whereas: | This is the third time since 2009 that one party has controlled the White House, the U.S. House, and the Senate, leaving the minority party with no other options to stop hyper-partisan bills; and |
Whereas: | Any radical agenda could be rubber stamped in the Senate and rushed to the president’s desk for signature into law with very little opportunity for the minority party to stop it; and |
Therefore: | I urge you to oppose any more dangerous changes to the filibuster rule! |
