NO DEAL ON SECTION 702!

Dear Patriot,

Congressional leadership may shove an extension of Section 702 of the FISA Improvements Act into the end-of-year spending bill!

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan are betting the American people will be too busy celebrating the holidays with friends and family to bother paying attention to what’s happening in Congress.

So please sign your “No Deal on 702!” petition below, and agree to your most generous contribution of $500, $250, $100, $50, or even $10 or $25 TODAY!

NO DEAL ON 702!

Petition to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan

Whereas: Section 702 of the FISA Improvements Act was intended to be a limited grant of authority to allow warrantless surveillance of non -U.S. citizens outside the U.S., and
Whereas: Federal authorities have used Section 702 to justify warrantless surveillance on anyone at anytime — including American citizens, and
Whereas: Warrantless wiretapping of American citizens has not stopped a single terrorist
attack, and
Whereas: Allowing Section 702 to sunset on December 31 would be a good step toward rolling back the surveillance state, and
Whereas: Congress may sneak an extension of Section 702 in the upcoming end-of-year spending bill, and
Whereas: Including Section 702 in the end-of-year spending bill would be a dereliction of Congress’ duty.
Therefore: I urge you to oppose any efforts to sneak an extension of Section 702 in the end-of-year spending bill and allow 702 to sunset instead.
