Technology revolutionaries succeed because of the decentralized nature of the Internet; and |

Statists are ramping up efforts for the government to takeover the Internet by destroying privacy rights of individuals with government snooping and efforts to abolish anonymity; and |
Whereas: |
Excessive regulation would have a chilling effect on free speech and severely hamper competition for tech companies in the online marketplace, as any new social network would be required by law to comply with the same costly and burdensome regulations as existing billion dollar corporations; |
Whereas: |
All these initiatives proposed by Senator Mark Warner will lead to the ultimate destruction of the technological revolution while killing a free and fast Internet that respects online privacy along with it; |
Therefore: |
As a Member of Congress, you are being put on notice. Those who would increase regulations on the Internet and seek to further destroy online privacy and anonymity will pay a severe political price at the polls. |
